AIR PIX CONNECTIVITYUpdated 2 years ago

How does the AIR PIX connect with a smartphone?

Once turned on the AIR PIX will generate a WiFi signal.  The AIR PIX will appear under your WiFi settings as an available WiFi network, you will see Airpix – xxxx, the 4 characters after Airpix will be a combination of letters and numbers.

Why might the AIR PIX not show up under my smartphone’s WiFi settings?

This is known to happen from time to time.  Try the following:

Turn off your phone’s WiFi for 30 seconds and turn off your AIR PIX.    After 30 seconds, turn on your AIR PIX and turn on your phone’s WiFi.  See if your AIR PIX is now available on your phone’s WiFi.

NOTE - make sure you are not in a WiFi saturated area, this can cause a delay in finding the AIR PIX signal.

If the WiFi signal does not appear after re-booting both your phone’s WiFi and the AIR PIX, please contact AirSelfie’s customer service.

What Apple iPhones are compatible with AIR PIX?

The AIR PIX require Apple iOS 10.0 or later.  It is compatible with all generations of iPhone from iPhone 5S and later. It will also work with all generations of iPad Air, iPad Pro and iPad Mini later than iPad Mini 2.

Does the AIR PIX work with Android phones?

Yes – the AirSelfie app is available in the Google Play store.

The AirSelfie app will work with Android 6.0 and newer.

Why does the following message appear after the AIR PIX is connected with an iPhone “No Internet Connection” or “Connect without internet” (Android)

This is a message generated by your smartphone.  Your phone’s WiFi is now connected to the AIR PIX and no other WiFi device can connect with your smartphone while it is connected to the AIR PIX.

The AIR PIX camera appears to be frozen, what do I do?

If your AIR PIX camera is frozen, shut off your AIR PIX and reboot the AirSelfie app.

Why does the AIR PIX sometimes automatically connect to my iPhone?

Your iPhone’s WiFi will remember the AIR PIX after it has been connected.  So if you are in an area with no WiFi signals other than the AIR PIX, your iPhone will automatically connect.  It is recommended that when using it outdoors in APP FREE mode and you have your iPhone with you, make sure the AirSelfie app is not open.  If the AirSelfie app is open in the background, you don’t realize it but your AIR PIX may automatically connect to your smartphone and this may cause it to fly erratically.
