Which App do I download for my AIR PIX camera?

Download the AirSelfie app from the Apple Store or Google Play onto your smartphone.  PLEASE NOTE: Be sure not to download the AirSelfie 2 app as it is not compatible with the AIR PIX.

What Apple iPhones and Android smartphones does AIR PIX work with?

Your AIR PIX requires Apple iOS 10.0 or later. It is compatible with all generations of iPhone from iPhone 5S and later. It will also work with all generations of iPad Air, iPad Pro and iPad Mini later than iPad Mini 2.

The AirSelfie app will work with Android 6.0 and newer.

How do I turn on/off my AIR PIX camera?

The power button is located at the opposite end of the AIR PIX from the camera lens.  It is next to the USB-C port. 

To turn on - press and hold the power button for about 2 – 3 seconds, a blue light will come on and start to flash.

To turn off - press and hold the power button for about 2 seconds until blue light turns off.

How do I connect my AIR PIX aerial camera with the App?

Launch the AirSelfie app on your smartphone, press “Select an AirSelfie” and then select “AIR PIX.”    Follow the prompts on your smartphone selecting WiFi to connect to your AIR PIX via a WiFi connection.  Return to the AirSelfie app once connected to the AIR PIX.

If you are curious as to what the WiFi band is for the AIR PIX, it is 2.4GHz.  Also don’t be alarmed by the message that implies no internet connection, this is a default message to let you know your smartphone can not connect with another WiFi device while connected to the AIR PIX.

 

 My AIR PIX prop popped off, how do I put it back on?

If you should lose a propeller, please know that there are 2 types of propellers; A & B props. The upper left and lower right are B props.  Upper right and lower left are A props.  The A or B can be found near the center of each propeller.  The replacement props are in a small plastic bag and are in the same compartment in the AIR PIX box that has the USB-C cable.

 

Is the AIR PIX designed to fly both indoors and outdoors?

Yes, by selecting this     blobid0.jpg    button you can toggle between indoor and outdoor flying.

The motors are designed to operate a little slower when flying indoors.

Does my AIR PIX camera need to be charged?

The AIR PIX should come with a partial charge so it’s ready to fly when you take it out of the box.  When you need to recharge the AIR PIX, use the USB-C cable that is bundled with it.  Plug the USB-C cable into the USB-C port on the AIR PIX.  Plug the other end of the cable into the USB port in your car, PC, portable battery charger or a wall outlet.

How do I know it is time to recharge the AIR PIX

There are a few indicators:

1 – On the home screen of the app look for the battery icon on the upper right side across from the word AIR PIX

2 – In camera mode, the icon is in the upper left-hand side of the screen, next to the WiFi signal.

The battery icon will show a portion of the battery in RED.  This indicates the battery is low and need to be recharged.

When flying you will see the blue light start to flash, the flash pattern will be slow and steady.

The AIR PIX is designed to gently fly to the ground when the battery runs low.

 Will the AIR PIX crash to the ground when the battery runs out?

No. There is a built-in Safe Auto-Landing function on the AIR PIX that detects when the battery is low, and it will automatically command it to gently land.

How do I know when the AIR PIX is charging?

When you plug the USB-C cable into a USB charger, a red light will come to the left of the camera lens.  The red light will remain on while it is charging.  When the red light is off your AIR PIX will be fully charged.       

NOTE – you cannot charge the AIR PIX while it is on.  The blue light must be off to charge the AIR PIX.

Does my AIR PIX need to be calibrated?

Yes, once you have connected to the AIR PIX Wi-Fi on your phone, return to the app’s home page.  Here you will see the option to calibrate your AIR PIX.  Simply place the AIR PIX on a flat horizontal surface and press CALIBRATE.   It is recommended you calibrate your AIR PIX after a crash or when it is not flying stable. 

Why do I need to calibrate my AIR PIX?

Calibrating the AIR PIX resets all sensors to provide a more stable flight. 

 AIR PIX warm to touch, is that normal?

Yes, the AIR PIX motors will get warm along with the airframe, but it should never get too hot to hold.

How high and far can the AIR PIX fly?

The AIR PIX will remain connected via WiFi to your phone up to 60’ feet (18m) away. It is designed to fly in your personal space to capture stunning selfie photos and videos. Though it can fly as high as 60 feet (18m) for best results fly within 15-20 feet (6m).
