How do I fly AIR PIX in MANUAL mode?

 while slowly tilting your phone away from you. Lift your thumb to stop the AIR PIX, it should hover in place.

TO FLY TOWARDS you – press down on the gold button, while slowly tilting your phone towards you.  Lift your thumb to stop the AIR PIX, it should hover in place.

FLY LEFT – press down on the gold button and slowly tilt your phone to the left, the AIR PIX will mirror the movement of your phone by using its gyroscope technology.

FLY RIGHT – press down on the gold button and slowly tilt your phone to the right, the AIR PIX will mirror the movement of your phone by using its gyroscope technology.

At any point, if you lift your thumb off the gold button the AIR PIX will stop and hover.  Lifting your thumb off the gold button stops your phone from sending flight commands.

To land your AIR PIX, select the down arrow next to the launch arrow on the lower right area of the camera view window.

The LEFT button controls the AIR PIX movement up & down, as well as rotating it clockwise or counter-clockwise

UP & DOWN - slowly slide your thumb up or down to get the AIR PIX to fly up or fly down.

ROTATING the AIR PIX - press down on the gold button and drag right to get the AIR PIX to turn clockwise or left to get the AIR PIX to turn counter-clockwise.

The RIGHT button controls the AIR PIX ability to move forward or back & left and right.

FLY AWAY from you - keeping your thumb pressed against the gold button slowly swipe up and the AIR PIX will fly away from you

TO FLY TOWARDS you - keeping your thumb pressed against the gold button slowly slide your thumb down and the AIR PIX will fly towards you

FLY LEFT – keeping your thumb pressed against the gold button, slowly slide your thumb to the left and the AIR PIX will fly to left

FLY RIGHT – keeping your thumb pressed against the gold button, slowly slide your thumb to the right and the AIR PIX will fly right

 Please note that LEFT and RIGHT buttons can be used together or independently

The icon found to the left of the land button is an orientation button.  By pressing this    mceclip5.jpg   button you are reversing the flight directions.  This is helpful when flying with the AIR PIX camera facing away from you.

To land your AIR PIX, select the land button (down arrow) above right gold button.

How do I take a picture or video while flying in MANUAL mode?

Portrait Mode:

To take a picture press the grey button below the gold button you are using to fly the AIR PIX.

You can change from photo to video by tapping on the icon that looks like a video camera.  Once tapped the grey button changes to a circle with a red dot.  Press the red dot to activate video.  A red square will appear.  Press the red square to stop video.

Game Control Mode:

To take a picture press the grey button above the right gold button you use to fly the AIR PIX.

If the AIR PIX is in video mode, you will not see a grey button, instead you will see a circle with a red dot.  This means video mode is active.  Tap the red dot to start recording video.  A red square will appear.  Press the red square to stop recording video.

You can change from video to photo mode by tapping on the camera icon to the left of the red dot.  Once tapped the button changes to a grey button.  Press the grey circle to take picture. 

 How do I fly in AutoFly?

Remember the AIR PIX does not have a flash so It is very important you are in a well-lit environment.  In AutoFly mode AIR PIX is using facial recognition to detect your face.  It is looking to lock in on your forehead, eyes and chin.  Once it locks in on your face it can take a photos or video

Select the number of photos you want taken by selecting this  blobid0.jpg  icon next to your flight control button.     By tapping on thisblobid0.jpgicon you will have the 2, 3 or 5 photos to be captured during AutoFly

Place AIR PIX on your open palm keeping it flat and parallel to the ground with the logo up and the camera facing you.

Press the gold button with the Play arrow in the middle of your screen and the propellers will start to softly spin.

Gently toss the AIR PIX out in front of you.  It is important not to toss the AIR PIX up as you want it to lock in on your face.  The AIR PIX is programmed to find your face within approximately 5 - 7 seconds. If it goes up too high the AIR PIX camera will struggle to detect your face in the 5 - 7 second time window and as a result it may not detect your face.

 Once in the air the propellers will fully engage, and your AIR PIX will take flight. It will fly approximately 8 feet (2m) out in front of you and then hover. 

 The blue light will flash twice to confirm it is locked in on your face, so get ready to smile.  It will then flash rapidly; this is when the camera is active and taking your picture.    It stops flashing, hovers and then the blue light flashes again as it gets ready to fly back to you.  As it is flying back, reach out so it can land in your hand. 

NOTE: If AIR PIX cannot find a face to lock on to, it will still take a picture and return to you. It may not have you centered as it did not detect a face.

 Tap the word AutoFly in the white space across the bottom of your screen.

Select the number of photos you want taken by selecting the icon next to your flight control.

Tapping on this  blobid0.jpg  icon will let you select either 2, 3 or 5 photos to be captured during AutoFly.

Place AIR PIX on your open palm keeping it flat and parallel to the ground with the logo up and the camera facing you.

Press the gold button with the Play arrow in the middle of your screen and the propellers will start to softly spin.

How do I capture video in AutoFly?

Remember the AIR PIX does not have a flash.  It is very important you are in a well-lit environment.  In AutoFly mode AIR PIX is using facial recognition software in capturing a picture or video.  It is looking to lock in on your forehead, eyes and chin.  Once it locks in on your face it activates the camera and is now ready to take a photo or video.

Portrait mode

To change from photo to video mode, look for the video camera icon next to the photo capture button, tap the video camera icon and the gray circle will now have a red dot in the middle and a camera icon will replace the video icon.  Launch the AIR PIX and then press the red dot, a red square will appear signaling the AIR PIX has started to capture video.  You will also notice the blue LED light will go off, this is another way to know the AIR PIX is capturing video.   Tap the red square to stop capturing video, notice the blue LED light comes back on.

 

Game control mode

Select the camera button  
mceclip1.jpg   and make sure you see the video camera in the center of the button.  You will see a red circle in the middle of the capture button, this confirms you are in video mode.  Simply press the red button, the circle changes to a square,

Press the gold button with the Play arrow in the middle of your screen and the propellers will start to softly spin.

Gently toss the AIR PIX out in front of you.  NOTE --- It is important not to toss the AIR PIX up as you want it to lock in on your face.  If it goes up too high the AIR PIX camera will struggle to detect your face and as a result will not return to you and gently fly to the ground.  

Once in the air the propellers will fully engage, and your AIR PIX will take flight. It will fly approximately 8 feet (2m) out in front of you and then hover. 

The blue light will flash twice to confirm it has detected your face, then it will turn off indicating that it is recording video.  After 15 seconds the AIR PIX will hover and then fly back to you.  As it is flying back, reach out your hand so it can land in your hand.

 Bad lighting will cause the AIR PIX in AutoFly mode not to find your face.  This is an example of good lighting vs bad lighting
